The Guru Nanak Hospital is a charitable hospital that provides medical services to the inhabitants of the village of Pasla (near Jalandhar in Punjab, India) and the surrounding area without regard to religion, creed or gender. We are registered with the Charity Commission for England & Wales under Charity Number 1073378.

The needy frequently still go without healthcare in Pasla and the surrounding areas of Punjab, and it is our mission to stop this happening. We urgently need your donations to keep the hospital operating and to improve the healthcare we provide to its patients.
HISTORY
The hospital was built in 2002 and opened on 17th March 2002. The hospital was built by Sarwan Singh Ubhi using funds raised by trustees and members of the Punjabi community in the United Kingdom, and on land donated by the Basra family.
Mr Ubhi was acutely aware of the gap in medical care in Pasla for those without money or the means to go to a town or city and was determined to do something about this injustice. The trustees worked tirelessly to raise funds, eventually raising enough from generous donors to build the Guru Nanak hospital. Over the years the hospital has grown, and currently serves thousands of patients every year.
WHAT WE DO
The Guru Nanak Dev Ji Charitable Hospital is used by those who can’t afford or access care elsewhere, and has an experienced permanent staff led by Dr Chandermohan. The hospital has several wards and private rooms, and capacity for up to 20 inpatients at any one time. The hospital provides urgent medical care all year round - Doctor Chandermohan and his team perform approximately 15-20 operations (e.g. caesarean sections, gallbladder removals, hysterectomies, laser surgeries and laparoscopic surgeries) a month. The hospital provided dental camps in April and November 2022 where over a hundred patients received treatments such as fillings or dentures.
